Weird Specialty Studio is proud to host - Melissa Messer
Melissa’s work centeres color-forward figure painting, as she describes her work as “if Rothko’s daughter were obsessed with form.”
Melissa uses her background in classical painting and contemporary design to grapple with themes of memory in the body. She establishes visual weight and atmosphere by pairing sculptural form with finely tuned color relationships.

Weird Specialty Studio is delighted to present its summer exhibition 'Upon Further Reflection' with contemporary painter Laura Naples and multidisciplinary artist John Born.
Additionally, we are honored to host Hudson Valley artist Amanda Russo Rubman, who will be adding to the Upstate Art Weekend mix with a stunning installation piece on site.
